To use ArcGIS QuickCapture, your device and ArcGIS account must meet the requirements below. If your project requires collection of high-accuracy location data, you may need to use an external GNSS receiver. See Choose a receiver for more information about those requirements.

The various user types and roles in ArcGIS organizations have access to different QuickCapture features. See the following table for details. For further information, see User types, roles, and privileges for ArcGIS Online or User types, roles, and privileges for ArcGIS Online.

By default, ArcGIS Server allows cross-domain requests so that JavaScript clients can invoke the server's services from any domain. However, if ArcGIS Server has been configured to only trust specific domains, you must ensure that the https://www.arcgis.com/apps/quickcapture/ domain is trusted. If the domain is not trusted, the QuickCapture website will be unable to retrieve data and you will receive errors. For more information, see Restrict cross-domain requests to your portal.
Authentication
When working with ArcGIS Online, both the mobile app and web designer support built-in, SAML, and multifactor methods of authentication.
When working with ArcGIS Enterprise, both the mobile app and web designer support built-in, SAML, IWA, PKI, and LDAP methods of authentication. To learn more about authentication, see About securing your portal.
Note:
The QuickCapture mobile app will not be able to use an external browser to sign in to versions of ArcGIS Enterprise earlier than 10.9 unless the arcgis-quickcapture:// redirect URI is manually added to the QuickCapture mobile app item. To add this redirect URI, do the following:
- Open the Portal for ArcGIS admin application and sign in as a member with administrative privileges. The URL of this administrative page is in the format https://webadaptorhost.domain.com/arcgis/portaladmin.
- Go to Home > Security > OAuth > Update App Info.
- Enter {"appId":"QuickCapture","redirectURIs":["urn:ietf:wg:oauth:2.0:oob", "arcgis-quickcapture://"]} and click Update App.
