You can change the way you interact with ArcGIS Mission Manager by customizing your settings. Currently, you can choose a default basemap and define its extent to streamline the process of creating a mission.
On the Settings page, click the Map Settings tab to change the default basemap or change the starting position and extent.
Change the default basemap
To change the default basemap, complete the following steps:
- Click the Basemap dialog button to expand it.
- Select a basemap and click to apply it.
- Click Save Settings.
A notification appears at the bottom of the app confirming your change. Your chosen basemap is now the default basemap and will be used whenever a mission is created.
Change the starting position and extent
To change the starting point and extent, complete the following steps:
- Determine your start location.
This can be done manually or using the search bar.
- Zoom to the desired scale using the Zoom tool or the mouse wheel.
- Click the Define Map Extent button.
- Click and drag to place a red rectangle on the basemap.
Keep in mind that the edges of this rectangle define the default zoom extent of your basemap. In the rectangle, the plus sign denotes the center point of your extent. You can redraw this extent as many times as necessary.
- Click Save Settings.
A notification appears at the bottom of the app confirming your change. Your chosen zoom extent is now the default extent and will be used whenever a mission is created.
You can change these settings at any time. You can also undo changes you make to the default map by clicking Reset to Default.
