ArcGIS Image Server is part of ArcGIS Enterprise, and provides a distributed computing and storage system that powers the analytical processing and serving of large collections of imagery, elevation data, rasters, and other remotely sensed data.
Getting ArcGIS Image Server up and running involves four primary steps:
- Install an ArcGIS Server site to function as ArcGIS Image Server.
- Authorize ArcGIS Server with an ArcGIS Image Server license.
- Register the data store with ArcGIS Image Server.
- Federate your ArcGIS Image Server site with your ArcGIS Enterprise portal.
The complete steps for this workflow are as follows.
- Verify that your site meets the system requirements.
- Plan your ArcGIS Image Server site configuration.
- Modify your firewall to allow communication on the ports used by ArcGIS Image Server.
- Install ArcGIS Server.
- If you will be configuring a one-machine deployment of ArcGIS Server, see Installing ArcGIS Server.
- If you will be configuring a multiple-machine deployment of ArcGIS Server, see Installing ArcGIS Server on multiple machines.
- Authorize the ArcGIS Server with an ArcGIS Image Server license. Your authorization file will automatically assign ArcGIS Server the role of ArcGIS Image Server.
- Log in to ArcGIS Server Manager on the machine and create a new site.
- Install and configure ArcGIS Web Adaptor with the ArcGIS Image Server site.
- Federate your ArcGIS Image Server site with your portal
- Connect to ArcGIS Image Server from ArcGIS Desktop.
- Grant your ArcGIS Image Server site the necessary permissions to your data directories.
You can also configure and deploy ArcGIS Enterprise for raster analytics.
